Whitening – take home or in chair
Take home whitening – we take impressions of upper and lower teeth to make moulds and bleach trays are made from the moulds. In 2-3 days, the trays are ready. Small drops of bleach gels are put on the trays and worn for 30 minutes a day. Usually it takes 3-4 weeks to get the desired result, but may take longer depend on the darkness of the teeth. Next is the maintenance phase, using the bleach trays once a week or a fortnight or a month to maintain the desired result.
In chair whitening – usually takes 1-2 hours in the dental chair, we isolate the teeth by covering the teeth and lips with special material, then apply bleaching gel on the teeth, and using special light to speed up the bleaching process. We also provide bleach trays for the maintenance phase.
Veneer – composite or porcelain
A veneer is a thin cover at the front surface of the teeth. The material is either composite or porcelain. Porcelain is stronger, looks better and lasts longer.
A crown is a thin cap covers all round the whole tooth. The material is either composite or porcelain. Porcelain is stronger, looks better and lasts longer.
For both veneers and crowns, if porcelain is used then the tooth is prepared and an impression is made, and the crown is ready in about week. In the meantime prepared tooth is covered with temporary veneer or crown. If composite is used, then the tooth is prepared and veneer or crown is built up on the tooth straight away.
